The Newaire HO3-2500 combines two powerful deodorizing technologies in one versatile unit. Its photocatalytic hydroxyl technology uses UV light and a catalytic surface inside the unit to generate hydroxyl radicals (•OH), naturally breaking down odors, bacteria, viruses, and VOCs in the air for safe use in occupied spaces up to 2,500 sq. ft.

For deeper air and surface cleaning in unoccupied areas, the optional ozone mode provides enhanced treatment, making the HO3-2500 a flexible solution for commercial, restoration, healthcare, hospitality, and property management needs.

Technology Behind Our Hydroxyl Generators

Hydroxyl generators rely on specific UV wavelengths and advanced catalysts to create safe, effective air purification. Not all systems are built the same.

Many devices on the market use UVC lamps in the 185–254 nm range without a catalyst and claim to make hydroxyls. In reality, these units function as UV ozone generators and are not suitable for use in occupied areas.

Others use the same UVC wavelengths with simple metal catalysts, which can produce some hydroxyls but also generate ozone. These systems should be used only in unoccupied spaces.

Our technology is different. Developed alongside NASA research, it uses 254 nm UVC light and nano-sized Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂) to generate hydroxyl radicals safely and efficiently—without producing harmful ozone. The result is a powerful, continuous oxidation process that neutralizes odors and airborne contaminants while remaining safe for use around people, pets, and sensitive materials.
